PM on 10-year-old Graham’s Hall student inconclusive

A post mortem (PM) conducted Monday on the body of a 10-year-old boy who collapsed last Wednesday and died at schoolis inconclusive, according to the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy.
Yogindra Persaud, called ‘Buddy’ or ‘Shawn’ collapsed last Wednesday and died while in his classroom at Graham’s Hall Primary School, Cummings Lodge, Georgetown.
The boy’s father Rakesh Persaud speaking of the PM to Guyana Times said the doctor did not discover anything significantly wrong to cause the death of the child; however DNA samples were collected for further testing.

The distraught father said the family was told that they will have to wait at least three months to find out the actual cause of death.
The results of the first test is expected within three weeks while the results of a second and final test could take up to three months, the man said he was told by doctors.
However, the family was given the clearance to go ahead with the lad’s funeral which is slated for today.
The father revealed that on Wednesday, his son had just returned from a morning recess and collapsed shortly after consuming a snack he purchased at the school.
The child was picked up by teachers and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Residents and teaches described the lad as a loving and polite child.
The father pointed out that his only son was not suffering from any serious ailments.
