Police Constable injured after colliding with horse

A police constable attached to the Presidential Guard Service is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a horse at Annandale Public Road, East Coast Demerara, on Wednesday evening.
The injured man is 21-year-old Mark Hayne of Paradise Village, East Coast Demerara. Based on information received, the young police constable was riding his motorcycle along the Annandale Railway Embankment when a horse ran across the road and collided with him.
As a result of the collision, Hayne fell onto the roadway, causing him to receive injuries about his body.
He was subsequently picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted.
However, information reaching Guyana Times late Thursday evening revealed that the young man has regained consciousness. An investigation is underway.
