Rain forces another postponement of final

GCA/GDA/PAHO U-17 T20…

Once again the final of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Guyana Diabetics Association (GDA)/PAHO Under-17 T20 Competition has been postponed to a later date owing to heavy rainfall in Georgetown on Sunday.
It is the third time the GCA would have had to reschedule the final on account of rain, which affected the hosting venue, the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Ground, Bourda.
Reigning champions Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) will have to wait longer to know whether they will emerge winners or surrender the title to an improved Transport Sports Club (TSC) unit.
However, it could be an extended delay for the GCA to host the final because the rainy season (May-June rain) is in full effect.
Nevertheless, it is a much-anticipated final that has stirred up lots of hype among cricketers and cricket lovers in the capital city.
The clash is expected to feature some of Guyana’s top youth players, namely Kevlon Anderson, Joel Spooner, Adrian Hinds, Alphius Bookie, Ashmead Nedd and Sachin Singh among others.
