Ramdhani, Haynes, Beharry grab prizes in World Badminton Day tourney
The Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) concluded its Total Solutions-sponsored World Badminton Day tournament on Saturday, after a handful of exhilarating final matches.
The victors of the GBA’s World Badminton Day tournament alongside Sol Guyana’s Earl Carribon
Eva Bowling and John Thomas emerged champions of the Under-11 singles, while Mishka Beharry and Aiden Bhagwandin championed the Under-15 category. Beharry returned in the Under-19 division for another win, while Matthew Beharry was the male victor.
A glimpse of the World Badminton Day tournament
Priyanna Ramdhani and Akili Haynes took top honours in the Under-23 singles, while Ramdhani returned with Ambika Ramraj for a women’s open doubles win.
In the men’s open doubles, Marlon Chung and Jonathan Mangra finished ahead of the competition and the pair of Matthew Klautky and Nkosi Beaton won the consolation competition.
While Total Solutions was the title sponsors, Sol Guyana and Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall sponsored other prizes. Priyanna Ramdhani, who recently completed her tertiary education with a 3.8 GPA overall in Business Management/Sports Management, was presented with a special prize compliments of Sunich’s Trophy Stall.
Sol Guyana’s General Manager, Earl Carribon presented gift vouchers on behalf of the company to the winners of the men’s open doubles consolation competition and the winners of the men’s and women’s open doubles.
