Ramps continues to spread cheer through its annual Kids’ Christmas Treat
Ramps Logistics last Saturday hosted its annual Kids’ Christmas Treat in Guyana and in Trinidad & Tobago in the form of a cross-country motorcade that put smiles on the faces of more than 290 children from 10 orphanages.
The motorcade commenced at the New Market Street main office of Ramps Logistics with Santa and a team of volunteers boarding buses to go visit Bless the Children Home, Sophia Care Center, St Ann’s Orphanage and Joshua House Children Centre, where more than 140 children received presents from Santa Claus and danced to the festive music emanating from Santa’s DJ truck.
“Kids’ Christmas Treat is very special to us, because it’s families supporting families,” Ramps Guyana’s CSR Coordinator Rebekah Raman has said. “It brings our people together to give back to our communities, enhance the lives of others, and spread a bit of Christmas cheer to the children at these homes.
After an eventful year, our team is excited to continue collaborating with local Guyanese businesses, and volunteering our time to make events like these possible.”
The team in Trinidad visited St Mary’s Children’s Home, Sri Jaya Lakshmi Children’s Home, Wesleyan Children’s Home, Ezekiel’s Home for Abandoned Children, Couva Children’s Home and Crisis Nursery, and El Shaddai Restoration Home for Children. The children in these homes also received gifts, and spent time with Santa and his helpers.
“The Kids’ Christmas Treat is something we are committed to doing every year with our Ramps team and our corporate sponsors,” CSR Team Lead Renuka Ragoo noted. “Each year, we are reminded of the importance of giving back and being involved in our communities. This venture is part of our culture, to ensure we do something for the children at these homes, who have become part of our extended Ramps family.”
The Kids’ Christmas Treat is one initiative employed by Ramps Logistics to give back to communities, in keeping with the company’s corporate responsibility.
