Reliance Hustlers, Bacchus Bulls to clash in T20 final on Sunday
Reliance Hustlers and Bacchus Bulls will clash on Sunday in the final of the Central/South Essequibo tournament. The match will be played at the Imam Bacchus ground at Affiance, Essequibo Coast.
Reliance Hustlers
Last Sunday, at the same venue, Reliance Hustlers made light work of Queenstown in the first semifinal, winning by ten wickets. And in the second semis, the action was more intense, as Bacchus Bulls clinched a thrilling one-run victory over Rising Stars Sports Club.
Queenstown took first strike, and made an inadequate 54 all out off 17.1 overs. Extras top-scored with 16. Veteran Essequibo player Ramesh Narine grabbed 3-11 from four overs to be the star bowler. Excellent support came from Narendra Madholall and skipper Travis Simon with two wickets each.
When Reliance batted, Mark Austin cracked an unbeaten 30, and victory was achieved in the 10th over.
Bacchus Bulls
Bacchus Bulls set up a challenging 147-6 from their allotment of 20 overs, and Rising Stars were left stranded at 146-8 when the overs ran out. Parmesh Parsotam led the way with 45. Quinton Sampson took 3-22 from his maximum four overs, bowling for Rising Stars.
In Rising Stars’ innings, national player Kemol Savory stroked 53, while Latchman Rohit and Sampson contributed 40 and 29 respectively. Parsotam was the most successful bowler for Bacchus Bulls, claiming 4-15 off three economical overs.
Meanwhile, preceding the championship game on Sunday, Queenstown and Rising Stars will compete for the third-place playoff prize.
