Repeat offender remanded for simple larceny

Chris Pollard, of Lot 46 Durban Street, Georgetown, a well-known character to the Police, was on Wednesday placed before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts after he was slapped with a charge of simple larceny.
The 19-year-old appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied the charges which stated that on February 19 at Croal Street, Georgetown, he robbed Jasmine Patricia of a Samsung Galaxy cellphone valued $44,000.
While no facts were presented in court on Wednesday, Police Prosecutor Annalisa Brummel objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant has five pending matters of similar nature in another court.

Remanded: Chris Pollard

As a result, an unrepresented Pollard was remanded to prison and he was scheduled to make his next court appearance on April 17, 2019.
Pollard, in January of this year, appeared before Principal Magistrate Leron Daly and was charged for robbery with violence. He was released on bail.
In 2018, the defendant was brought before the courts after he allegedly stole his father’s .32 pistol and matching rounds of ammunition valued $252,600. Those charges were dismissed after his father did not offer evidence in that matter.
