Repeat offender remanded

An alleged repeat offender of William Street, Cambelville, Georgetown was hauled before city Magistrate Judy Latchman after being charged for simply larceny.
Ryan Foula, 29, is accused of breaking and enter the home of Cidel Thom Fernandes between March 17 and 18, 2017, at William Street, Georgetown. It is alleged that the 29-year-old stole a quantity of jewelry and cash, a total of $70,000.
The unrepresented accused denied the charge brought against him.
Foula related that he has pending matters of similar nature before another court, as well as a charge of narcotic possession when questioned by Magistrate Latchman.
The Prosecution did not hesitate to object to bail on the basis of the nature and prevalence of this offence, as well as the penalty attracted by such a felony, and the man was remanded to prison in this accord.
The matter will continue on March 27, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
