Republic Bank League: Hendricks, Pemberton braces hand Chase, South victories

After a thrilling Round 3 in the Republic Bank Secondary School football League, defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation are the only team still unbeaten, while others continue to gain momentum.

Tyrese Pemberton netted a brace for South Ruimveldt Secondary

Three miles Secondary, after two unbeaten rounds, were unable to get past the tournament’s defending champions on Sunday as Chase sealed a 4-1 victory.
Three Miles too first strike as Rondell Washington headed an incoming corner kick into the nets in the 4th minute. However, their celebrations were short- lived as Chase’s chief marksman Bryan Wharton levelled the scores in the 10th minute.
Chase continued their comeback through Malcolm Hendricks who netted a double in the 32nd and 44th minutes while Juslyn Halley’s shot across the nets in the 40th minute added their fourth.
Then, West Ruimvedlt cruised to a 2-0 victory over Abram Zuil Secondary. Lydon Gray opened the scoring in the 15th and Donovan Welcome added their second goal in the 33rd.

Ranny Yaw and Collin Frank David netted one each for Dolphin Secondary

Another close encounter saw Dolphin Secondary edging President’s College in the following fixture. Ranny Yaw put Dolphin ahead in the 14th but a penalty opportunity went the way of President’s College, allowing Daniel Alexander to level the scores in the 30th minute.
On minute later though, Collin Frank David found the game winner for Dolphin Secondary. Although the game had lots of time left, Dolphin’s defenses held on to stifle their opponents.

South Ruimveldt Secondary brought the curtains down on the day’s proceedings with a similar 2-1 victory over Charlestown, who found themselves on the losing end of a game for the first time in the 2025 tournament.
Charlestown was up first, on the accounted of a Jeremiah David strike in the 4th minute. But, Tyrese Pemberton’s brace in the 31st and 40th minutes gave South the redemption they were desperately searching for and ultimately the win.
Round 4 of the Republic Bank- powered league is set to get underway on Sunday, November 9 at the same venue.
