Scotiabank Guyana is expanding its digital banking services, introducing new features aimed at making banking more accessible and reducing the need for clients to visit branches. According to the bank in a press release on Wednesday, over the past year, the bank has invested in digital capabilities, streamlined processes and self-service solutions across its retail and business banking channels. The release stated that among the latest enhancements are upgrades to the Scotia Caribbean App and Scotia OnLine platforms, including online account enrollment, allowing new clients to open accounts without visiting a branch. Clients can also receive email alerts for deposit credits, while payroll credit notifications are enabled by default. Other features include the ability to personalise account names and lock or unlock debit cards in real time. The bank said the upgrades are intended to give clients greater control over their finances and allow them to conduct transactions at any time. Scotiabank has also expanded its 24/7 self-service capabilities through the rollout of next-generation Intelligent Deposit Machines. The machines allow clients to make deposits, transfers and bill payments, as well as service loans.
The machines support envelope-free deposits and near real-time access to funds, while reducing transaction times.
Upgraded ScotiaConnect
According to the bank, digital adoption currently stands at 40 per cent, with more than 90 per cent of all transactions being completed through digital channels. Scotiabank is also targeting business clients through upgrades to its payment acceptance services. Unmanned kiosk technology and a proprietary application allow businesses to conduct self-service transactions, with funds credited within 24 hours. The bank has also upgraded its ScotiaConnect online business banking platform with a more user-friendly interface for commercial clients. Scotiabank Guyana Country Head Nafeeza Gaffoor said the bank’s focus is on making it easier for clients to conduct business. “We are focused on making it easier for our clients to do business with us,” Gaffoor said. “By combining digital innovation with streamlined processes, we are delivering faster, more convenient and reliable banking solutions that meet the evolving needs of individuals and businesses across Guyana.” The bank said it will continue to focus on digital solutions as client expectations change, with the aim of improving access, turnaround times and convenience across its banking services.
