A 31-year-old shopkeeper of Nigg Settlement, Corentyne, Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), was arrested on Sunday after he was found with a quantity of cannabis in his house.

Reports are Police conducted a raid on the home of the man during which a transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of cannabis was found hidden behind a freezer.
The suspect claimed ownership of the suspected cannabis and he was taken to the Whim Police Station along with the drug where it was weighed in his presence and amounted to 21.8 grams.
He was placed into custody pending investigations.
