At the Francis Baba Lastic Grounds, Guyanese all-rounder Kevin Sinclair delivered a breath-taking display of power-hitting that will be remembered long after the result fades from memory. Though Soufriere Titans fell short against City Blasters in their St Lucia Premier League (SPL) Qualifier clash, Sinclair’s astonishing 100 off just 35 balls stood as the defining moment of the contest.
Chasing a towering 254 for victory, the Titans were always up against it after City Blasters piled up an imposing 253 for six in their allotted 20 overs. The Blasters’ innings was built on a foundation of explosive batting, beginning with Theo Edward’s brisk 50 from 29 balls, an innings decorated with three fours and four sixes. Stephen Naitram then unleashed a brutal assault, smashing 92 from just 42 deliveries, clearing the boundary 10 times while adding five fours.
If that wasn’t enough, Mckenny Clarke provided a late-innings blitz, hammering 62 from a mere 21 balls to complete the demolition and push the total well beyond the Titans’ comfort zone.

But if the Blasters thought the contest was settled, Sinclair had other ideas.
Walking in with the Titans needing something extraordinary, Sinclair produced exactly that. The right-hander tore into the bowling attack from the outset, dispatching 11 sixes and five fours in a sensational knock that electrified the Soufriere crowd. His century came at breakneck pace – 100 runs from just 35 deliveries – keeping the Titans’ hopes alive even as wickets tumbled around him.
Shanii Mesmain provided valuable support with a rapid 44 from 16 balls, ensuring the chase retained some momentum. However, the required rate and relentless pressure proved too much. The Titans were eventually bowled out for 199 in 16.4 overs, falling 54 runs short of the daunting target.
City Blasters’ Tyler Venner played a crucial role with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of four for 23 to halt the Titans’ resistance and seal victory.
