Spectacular horse racing heads to Crawford Memorial

The year-end horse racing season continues this Sunday with a 6-race programme at the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sport Facility at Alness Village on the Corentyne coast.

horses classified “J” and Lower. The top prize is a hefty $180,000 and a trophy while $90,000 is for the second place finisher, $45,000 for third and $22,000 for fourth covering a distance of 1,200M or six furlongs.
The other five events will see the thoroughbreds covering distances of 1,000M or five furlongs each including the “K” and Lower, “L 1” and Lower, “L 2” and Lower, the unclassified and an open race for non-winners.
The top prize in the “K” and Lower is $140,000 and $100,000 will go to the winner of the “L 1” and Lower event and $80,000 is up for grabs in the “L 2” and Lower class race which will all encourage crowded starting gates with high intensity on the track.

The first race is set for 13:00h and there will be entertainment by popular sound system while the young turfites will have merry-go-round and trampoline. Food and drinks will be on sale and admission is set for $1,000.
