Stacy Katina Carmichael eyes Miss Renaissance 2017 title

The Miss Renaissance Pageant will be held on August 19 at the National Cultural Centre with 12 professional women competing for the coveted title. The delegates were introduced to the media in June at a sashing ceremony.

The Pageant serves as a catalyst to re-educate the public about inner beauty, creativity, cultural awareness and the accomplishments of the mature Guyanese woman 30 years and older. For the next few weeks, Guyana Times Entertainment will feature each delegate.

This week, we are pleased to introduce to you 32-year-old Stacy Katina Carmichael, a mother of three handsome boys. She is currently a Senior Communications Officer at the Ministry of the Presidency attached to the Press and Publicity Unit.

She aspires to be the Chief Executive Officer and Manager of a public relations consultancy firm. Carmichael attained a Diploma in Communications Studies from the country’s premier tertiary institution, the University of Guyana.

This phenomenal woman enjoys singing, dancing and meeting interesting people. She began her career in the media at the State-owned National Communications Network and moved quickly through the ranks. She became a household name from her presentation of the news on both radio and television and has rubbed shoulders with prominent politicians and other reputable persons. In November 2015, she resigned as an Editor/Anchor as she migrated to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Carmichael returned to the local media fraternity in 2016 when she joined the dynamic team of the Newsroom as an Assistant Editor/Senior Journalist.

Her goal is to bring hope to women in domestic violence situations and the Miss Renaissance Pageant 2017, apart from fulfilling her dream of entering a pageant, offers the ideal platform for her to advocate for the interests of women all across Guyana and even further afield.

On August 19, Carmichael promises to bring to the audience an intricate combination of beauty, intelligence, poise and talent.
