While information remains sketchy about the shooting incident, there are conflicting reports as to who shot the alleged bandit. Reports are that the known criminal was shot and killed by undercover Police ranks while other information suggests that he was shot by a businessman.
At this moment, it is unclear who they are accused of robbing.
After allegedly committing the robbery, Trotman and his accused 20-year-old accomplice of Albouystown, Georgetown, crashed the motorcycle they were riding into a car that was travelling along King Street as they attempted to flee. Trotman was shot in the chest and collapsed onto the roadway.
His alleged accomplice reportedly attempted to flee at that point but was caught by Police. Police have since described the now dead man as a “known character”. At the scene on Friday, persons were reluctant to provide any information.
Meanwhile, Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn, who was at the scene, could not provide any substantive information on the incident. Police have seized the motorcycle, PLL 2499, as investigations are ongoing.
