Tennis ace gives back to young players

Rising tennis ace Sachia Vickery on Friday evening at the GBTI Sports Club’s Tennis Courts in Bel Air Park met with a number of junior tennis players and in a show of support she distributed a number of tennis racquets and other gears.
The 22-year-old tennis star said that with her donations; “maybe I can inspire some of these kids, they could go on to develop love for the sport and excel as well.”

Vickery is currently visiting her parents’ homeland Guyana for the first time in two years; she recently had the best run of form of her career in Auckland, New Zealand which catapulted her up in the world rankings.
Sachia’s mother, Paula Liverpool hails from Kwakwani while her father Rawle Vickery was born in Linden.
Vickery is still relishing her well-deserved climb in the latest World Rankings and is on the verge of breaking into the WTA’s Top 100 for the first time after she had the best week of her career in Auckland, New Zealand.
She not only reached the first WTA semi-final of her career, but also set a brand new career-high ranking of 106 in the world (according to the latest WTA Rankings).
