The Guyana Int’l Kyokushinkai Martial Arts Academy… Academy concludes 2018 final exams

The Guyana International Kyokushinkai Martial Arts Academy (GIKMAA) recently concluded its final examinations of the year, whereby 34 students took part in a karate exam under the watchful eyes of Dr Nazim Yassim, moving from one level to the next. The students participated from the schools’ various branches such as Enmore with 18, Wales with nine, and Enterprise with seven.
Graduating from the Enterprise branch were Satish Udit, Shonna Seusingh, and Rahul Miaram (10th Kyu to 9th Kyu Yellow Stripe); David Mangru, Nickolas Rampersaud, Nirel Ramrattan and Alesha Paul (9th Kyu Yellow Stripe to 8th Kyu Yellow belt); while the Wales branch produced Junior Shilchand, Ganesh Persaud and Sharada Sookwah (9th Kyu Yellow Stripe to 8th Kyu Yellow belt). Marcus Chowtie (Green belt), John Brown and Christian Freeman (5th and 4th Kyu blue belt, Nkosi Jupiter, Bhudesh Shilchand (3rd and 2nd Kyu Brown Belt) and Maranda Bennett (Judging 7 Weapons).
The Enmore Branch, which produced the most students, saw Dharshanie Ahmad, and Shahid Shah (10th Kyu to 9th Kyu Yellow Stripe), Ronald Ramkissoon, Mark Sue-Poi, Antonio Kumar, Anthony Gouveia and Jefferson Jaikissoon (9th Kyu Yellow Stripe to 8th Kyu Yellow belt); while Naveed N Emamally and Mohamad Yasin (7th Kyu Orange belt), Avinash Somwaru and Totaram Jainarain (6th Kyu Green belt) Govindanath Persaud (5th Kyu Blue belt and Jason Haywood and Shakeel Rahat (2nd Kyu Brown Belt) Kelvin Walcott, Umisha Parasram, Vikash Somwaru and Govind Ramkur all graduated.
Chief Instructor Kelvin Walcott, Senior Instructor Maranda Bennett, Junior Instructors Umisha Parasram and Vikash Somwaru, Sampais Govind Ramkur and Bhudesh Shilchand have thus far completed their 1st Dan Kobudo Weapons Exams. Dr Nazim is very happy with the progress of his students and their levels of discipline, adding they worked very hard in preparation for their exams.
