Thieves caught red-handed in Campbellville home

Two thieves’ luck ran out on Saturday morning after they were caught red-handed in a home at Craig Street, Campbellville, Georgetown.

The two suspects, who are known for committing a series of robberies in a number of homes in the community, were cornered in the house by ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) after the occupant of the home raised an alarm.
Guyana Times understands that after the men were caught, they were both taken into custody, and are currently assisting Police with their investigations.
Only recently, 40-year-old Ahilia Robertson and 38-year-old Yogita Balgobin of Mon Repos Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD), were robbed by two armed men as they were about to retire to bed.
According to Police, the two women were robbed at around 23:15h after the gunmen invaded their property.
Robertson and Balgobin were relieved of two cell phones, one laptop, and one iPad.
Following the robbery, one of the bandits allegedly hit Robertson to her neck before making good their escape in a waiting motor car. (G9)
