Top Brandz backs Faye Joseph million dollar domino tourney

Top Brandz distributors through its Hairoun Beer; have thrown their support behind the Guyana National Dominoes Federation (GNDF) 5th annual Faye Joseph million-dollar tournament; set to bang off on Good Friday Night.
The official venture between the federation and Top Brandz; distributors of the popular Corona Beer brand, took place at the company’s Broad Street head office, where GNDF President Faye Joseph along with members of her federation, received the sponsorship cheque from Marvin Wray, Beer Manager of Top Brandz.
The event’s Brainchild, Joseph, said she expects a bigger turnout than ever as teams from Linden, Berbice and Essequibo will participate while international teams from Barbados, Canada, Colombia and others are set to spice up the tournament.

With their hands in Football, Rugby and other popular beats; Wray pointed out that his company has been doing much for sports as of late and they will continue to do so, regardless of the sport in question.
Wray said the move to support the federation came after carrying out successful assessments of the support for the sport. He said they have identified the domino fraternity as one that needs the boost as they have been keeping the passion and love for the sport going for years in Guyana while striving to make it an international event.
First prize is $500,000; Second – $300,000; third – $200,000, with winners each receiving trophies and medals. Meanwhile, Registration fee for the event has been reduced to $20,000 as compared to before when it was $40,000.
Interested teams are also asked to contact members of the GNDF for further information regarding the competition, while registration will commence from 11:00am on Easter Saturday.
The Faye Joseph Million Dollar event which started back in 2014 is the biggest international dominoes event held in Guyana and will be played at the President’s residence located at 1222 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt Gardens. (Clifton Ross)
