…commit to leaving “no stone unturned”
Acting Commissioner of Police, Nigel Hoppie; Regional Commander of Division 4 A, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean; the Force’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries-Junor; Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Senior Superintendent Wendell Blanhum and Pastor Roberts on Sunday visited the grieving relatives of Cecil Sampat.
Sampat, 39, of Festival City, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was club-hopping with his coworkers, 27-year-old Winston Fraser, who is now paralysed along with Joshua Letlow and Seon Greenridge on July 25 when Police opened fire on them.
When contacted, the Force’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries-Junor stated that the mission was to reassure the family that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted by a dedicated team with alacrity.
“The Commissioner went to reassure the family that he is committed for a comprehensive investigation and he will not leave any stone unturned in the bid to get the truth as to what happened and wherever ranks are found tort, they will be dealt with by the law,” Andries-Junor relayed to this publication.
