Truck driver nabbed with ganja at Matthews Ridge

The ganja that was found by Police during a patrol at Matthews Ridge, Region One

A quantity of cannabis was discovered during a Police patrol at Minab, Matthews Ridge, Region One (Barima-Waini), on Monday night.
The discovery led to the arrest of a 40-year-old truck driver.
According to Police, the find was made around 21:00h during a routine patrol conducted by ranks in the area. During the exercise, a motorcycle being ridden by the suspect, of Station Street, Matthews Ridge, was stopped after ranks conducted checks in the area.
A search was carried out on both the motorcycle and the rider, during which a small transparent plastic bag containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis was allegedly found in the man’s left front pants pocket.
He was arrested and escorted to the Matthews Ridge Police Station along with the suspected narcotics. The substance was weighed in his presence and amounted to 11.8 grams before being lodged as evidence.
The suspect remains in custody.
