Home News US congressional, military team arrives in Guyana
A team of United States congressmen and military officials has arrived in Guyana as part of its familiarisation visit which was confirmed by Government late last week.
Among those who arrived so far are Congressman Bob Goodlatte; and US House Representatives John Rutherford, Mark Sandford, John Curtis, Todd Rokita, Richard Hudson, Steve Cohen, Scott Peters and Darrel Issa.
The group is scheduled to meet with President David Granger and his Ministers for a private meeting today. The media have not been invited to any planned events for the visit.
Last week, Minister of State Joseph Harmon had said that the team’s visit signals the growing confidence in the relationship between the two countries.
The other members of the delegation are Sergeant First Class Alexander Morrow, Lieutenant Colonel Eric Hanson, Staff Sergeant Michael Layton, Lieutenant Colonel Sean Foster, Robert Goodlatte, Landon Sanford, Sue Curtis, Lynn Peters, Shelly Husband, Braden Ritchie, Eric Bagwell, Andrea Loving, Scott Bennett, and Jamie Miller.
