The United States Embassy in Guyana has announced continued support for the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) through a communications enhancement project aimed at strengthening the country’s defence capabilities.
In a social media post, the Embassy said the initiative will introduce advanced technology to improve the GDF’s communication systems across land, maritime and air operations. It also seeks to enhance the operational capabilities of the force’s command centres and improve overall situational awareness.
According to the post, the upgraded systems are intended to support efforts to proactively address and mitigate emerging security threats. The equipment, once fully integrated, is expected to improve coordination and response capacity within the GDF.
The US Embassy further stated that the partnership reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting Guyana’s defence readiness and contributing to regional security. It added that the collaboration aims to help ensure the long-term safety and security of the Guyanese population and promote a stable and secure future for the wider region.
