Wanted bulletin issued for Capoey Lake murder suspect
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday issued a wanted bulletin for 19-year-old Carl Welcome Jnr also known as “Ralph” of Swan, Soesdyke-Linden Highway. Welcome is wanted by the police for questioning in relation to the murder of a 23-year-old excavator operator, who was found dead on December 17, 2018, with a slit to the throat at his home at about 05:00h.

Dead is Shervin Melville of Capoey Lake, Essequibo Coast. Initial reports stated that the deceased had a “holiday drink” for close friends and relatives at his home the evening before the incident occurred.
Relatives of the victim related to this publication that while imbibing, Melville left his home to purchase cigarettes at a nearby shop and returned with a young man whom he invited. When asked about the stranger by relatives, the now dead man said that he invited him to have a drink. While relatives retired to bed, Melville continued drinking with the stranger. The following morning, Melville’s lifeless body was discovered lying face down in the house but the young man he had invited was nowhere to be found.
