Xamiera Kippins cops gold at Miss Earth Pageant costume segment

Xamiera Kippins, Guyana’s representative to the Miss Earth Pageant that is currently ongoing in the Philippines has copped the gold medal for her National Costume during the competition on Wednesday evening.
The competition was done by continent and Guyana topped for South America. Coming in with the Bronze medal was Miss Peru and Silver is Ecuador.
Kippins’ costume depicted Guyanese Folklore, “Ole Higue”. The “Ole Higue” is a shape-shifting creature of folklore that appears in the form of a solitary old woman by day. During the night however, she strips herself of her wrinkled skin and puts it in a mortar.
This causes her to reveal her true form, a ball of fire. As a fireball, she can fly across the dark sky in search of unsuspecting victims. “Ole Higues” can enter the homes of her victims through the use of any size of hole with direct access to the interior of the house.
Miss Earth Guyana’s costume was designed by Randy Madray.
