The tournament which commenced Sunday afternoon, stretched until the wee hours of Monday morning with Xavier dominating the table against Deenashwar Rampersaud in the finals; winning 2-0 to take Championships honors.

receiving the Trophy Stall silverware. Earlier, Rampershad got a free draw into the final since there were three players left in the competition leaving Xavier to battle Chrisnah Rambarran for a place in the final.
Xavier took the first game while Rambarran won the second before Xavier won the decider leaving the former to settle for the third place prize of a Trophy and a bottle of Absolut Vodka sponsored by Nicky’s Natural Fruit Juice.
Rampersaud, for his second place effort received a five-stop trip on the Essequibo River inclusive of Lunch and a Trophy compliments of satellite internet provider, V-Net Communications.
The one-day tournament was organized by former national U-17 cricketer, Ricardo Devers who said holding such a tournament was based on wanting to have all of Guyana’s top Pool players competing in one place since there is no local Pool Association to stage such tournaments.
Devers said this was the first time he has held such an event and unlike in the USA and Canada where Professional Pool is played and players can make a living from the sport this is not the case here in Guyana.
In terms of future competitions, Devers hinted at a competition for female players only.
