Police in Regional Division Five (Mahaica-Berbice) have arrested two males after a large quantity of marijuana was found along the West Coast Berbice public road.
The discovery was made Saturday, January 3, at around 15:45h during a mobile patrol along the Naarstigheid Public Road, WCB.
During the patrol, ranks stopped two men who were on a motorcycle heading in the direction of Georgetown.

A search was conducted on a haversack worn by the pillion rider, during which nine parcels containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis were found.
Both the pillion rider, a 23-year-old of Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), and the driver of the motorcycle, a 31-year-old of Savannah Park, New Amsterdam, were arrested and taken into custody.
The two suspects, along with the suspected cannabis, were escorted to the Fort Wellington Police Station, where the narcotics were weighed in their presence and amounted to 3.70 kilograms (8.157 pounds). The suspected cannabis was subsequently lodged.
Both suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
