Police in Regional Division Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) are investigating the discovery of more than eight kilograms (kg) of cannabis during an operation at Glasgow Housing Scheme, East Bank Berbice, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Police, the discovery was made at about 15:30h during an exercise conducted in the community.

Ranks reported that they observed two men behaving suspiciously in a yard, and upon noticing the Police presence, the men reportedly fled on foot and escaped.
Acting on information received, officers conducted a search of a building located in the yard from which the men had fled.
During the search, Police found a black garbage bag containing four bulky parcels wrapped in transparent plastic. Another bulky black plastic bag containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis was also discovered.
Further searches led to the discovery of a green suitcase containing two bulky parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, which also contained leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The narcotics were taken to the Central Police Station, where they were weighed and amounted to 8.350 kg.
No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
