Some 21 families from various villages along the Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), on Friday received cement and steel vouchers at the Regional Housing Office during an outreach exercise in the region.
The vouchers were presented to the recipients by Housing Minister Collin Croal as part of the Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting families on their journey to homeownership.
One beneficiary, Mahindra Kublall, expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting that “it is always encouraging when the Government of the day renders this type of assistance to its citizens.”
In addition, Minister Croal, along with Member of Parliament (MP) Seepaul Narine and Advisor to the Labour and Manpower Planning Ministry, Joseph Hamilton, engaged residents at a community meeting at Lima Sands.

During that meeting, residents raised concerns, shared ideas, and received direct updates on housing and other Government services as the administration continues its commitment to bringing Government closer to the people.
Meanwhile, at McNabb Village, Minister Croal provided residents with updates on the rapid transformation taking place within the housing sector, highlighting ongoing housing developments across the country, the allocation of house lots, infrastructure expansion, the distribution of certificates of title and agreements of sale, and the Government’s continued investment in making homeownership more accessible for Guyanese.

Residents also raised a number of housing-related matters, with the Ministry reaffirming its commitment to working closely with each individual to resolve issues.
The outreach demonstrates the Government’s people-centred approach, bringing decision-makers directly into communities, keeping citizens informed of national development, and ensuring their voices are heard while delivering practical solutions.
Permanent Secretary Bishram Kuppen, Community Development Director of the Central Housing and Planning Authority Gladwin Charles and other supporting staff are also on the ground to offer support.
