8 princesses to vie for Miss Guyana Princess pageant

The annual Miss Guyana Princess Pageant, under the artistic direction of Nandre’s Kreations, will be hosted yet again, this time with more hype, more energy and more excitement. This year, organisers are poised to produce another pageant that caters to the pre-teen participants between the ages of eight and 12.
The pageant is slated for August 12 at the Theatre Guild Playhouse and will see eight delightful young ladies competing for the title.
The delegates will be presented to the public at a launching ceremony and fashion show in the Theatre Guild’s Eucalyptus Garden on Sunday, July 22, 2018.
Patrons will be treated to collections of fabulous designs from Wnyette Jones, Vanda Allicock, Tandika Favourite, Sydney Francious and Nelsion Nurse. The show promises to create a fun, family-oriented afternoon featuring some “tiny tots” who at the tender age of four are ready to take the runway.
The Miss Guyana Princess Pageant was designed to provide each participant with the opportunity to promote school, community, talent and culture, and at the same time learn more about the other participants to encourage networking, integration and social cohesion among our children.
The princesses were each given pageant names after Disney Princesses who were characters of strength, poise, beauty and bravery. Many of us grew up with Disney Princesses as staples of our childhoods.
They illustrated stories of overcoming problems that were important for us to see as children. The lessons they teach still ring true today as our society progresses more. Children today learn just as much if not more from these movies than we did before them.
The delegates in this year’s line-up are Per’yah Jones, Patrice Rollox, Ske Dawson, Akkela Simpson, Rihanna Maloney, Kirsten Morris, Dyana Joaquin and Luhanna Cockfield.
