Persaud, Ten-Pow bring the heat at GT Motorsports’ Grand Prix

Mikhail Persaud and Jeremy Ten-Pow have again showed that Guyana’s motor racing future is bright by being the top drivers in their respective categories when the second Grand Prix for 2018 was held on Sunday at GT Motorsports.
The 15-year-old Persaud made a clean sweep of the 125cc Senior category, while Matthew Phang finished second in all three races. Raymond Baksh, Kristian Boodhoosingh and Zachary Boodram each got a third-place finish.

Ten-Pow, of Pure Racing, continued his dominant showing by brushing aside the competition in all three 60cc races, leaving perennial rival Nathan Rahaman to settle for second on three occasions.
Jeremy’s brother, Justin, copped two third-place finishes, while Paige Mendonca, the lone female competitor, took third in the first race.
Kristian Jeffrey managed to hold off the challenge of his cousin Stefan Jeffrey and Steven Nobrega in the Easy Cup Super to be deemed champion. Nobrega got two second-place finishes and a third, and Stefan finished with one second and two third-place finishes.
Additionally, Ben Phang won the 60cc Baby Cup; Rayden Persaud did likewise in the 125cc Juniors; Shan Seejatan followed suit in the 125cc Masters, and Dharmendra Dharmo did same in the Easy Cup Rookie.
