Guyana’s team of boxers who have travelled to Managua, Nicaragua to compete in the American Boxing Confederation’s (AMBC’s) Pan American qualifiers have gotten off to a flying start.
The Pan Am qualifiers, which will run until April 11, will pave the way for competition on a much larger stage, the Pan American Games.
On the first night of competition, Bantamweight pugilist Keevin Allicock began Guyana’s quest on a high note with a win over Trinidad and Tobago’s Anthony Joseph by way of unanimous decision.
Also on the Guyana team is Light welter weight boxer Colin Lewis and Middleweight boxer Desmond Amsterdam.
