Kelly Sankar, one of the top ten CSEC performers for 2021, has been offered a full tuition pre-medical scholarship from the Texila American University (TAU), where she will pursue studies in the Doctor of Medicine Programme.

This comes as a result of her stellar performance where she managed to cop 16 Grade Ones and four Grade Twos at the CSEC examinations.
Sankar attended Anna Regina Multilateral Secondary in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).
Education Minister Priya Manickchand will officially hand over the scholarship to Sankar during a ceremony scheduled for Monday at Texila’s Providence Campus.
In a release, the University noted that scholarships of this nature form part of the University’s Scholarship initiative of ensuring Guyanese benefit from programmes.
Commenting on TAU’s scholarship initiative, Founder and President, Saju Bhaskar noted, “Texila has always been about diversity and inclusion and one way we can ensure that everyone has access to university is by offering financial support to those who may have unique personal circumstances”. Bhaskar added, “We are proud to welcome Ms Sankar to the TAU family and we must also commend the Ministry of Education for preparing students to excel in academia”.
