Banks DIH donates computer, printer to Bamia Nursery/Primary School

banks DIH made a donation of a desktop computer and printer to Bamia Nursery/Primary School on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, following a request from the school.

According to Headteacher Denise Piggott the school was forced to prepare all its printing material in the mining town of Mackenzie, approximately 15 miles from the village because there was no electricity.

Piggott said that Bamia recently acquired electricity for the first time and this prompted the school to seek assistance of a computer and printer and Banks DIH was approached and responded positively.

“The computer system will help us tremendously and will reduce cost because we will no longer have to travel all the way to Mackenzie to have our paperwork done. We are very grateful to Banks DIH Limited for their support,” she added.

Troy Peters, Communications Manager of Banks DIH said the company responded almost immediately to the request after hearing about the challenges of the school.

“This presentation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSRP) as we continue to foster closer relationships in the communities in which we operate,” he added.

Bamia School has a population of 48 pupils and five teachers.
