Beharry Group U-19 Cricket Tournament: Zone 2 teams geared up and ready for tournament bowl-off

As the Beharry Group of Companies get ready for what is expected to be an unprecedented competition among schools across Guyana, preparations are moving apace in the Region 1/Essequibo Coast regions –Zone 2 in the Schools’ U-19 Cricket Tournament.
A team briefing exercise was successfully held on Friday, with teachers, players, and tournament officials gathering to discuss preparations for the highly-anticipated competition.

Lead Coordinator Azizi Christiani welcomed the participants and expressed gratitude to the teachers and students for their attendance and commitment to the tournament. He highlighted the importance of the competition in providing meaningful opportunities for young cricketers to develop their skills and showcase their talent.
Recently-appointed Guyana Under-19 Assistant Coach Antony Adams was among those in attendance and commended the Beharry Group of Companies for supporting such a significant initiative. Adams emphasised that tournaments of this nature play a vital role in identifying and nurturing emerging cricket talent across the country.
Reflecting on his own journey in the sport, Adams noted that school cricket played a major role in his cricketing career. He encouraged the student-athletes present to embrace the opportunity before them and make every moment count as they seek to advance their cricketing ambitions.
The interactive session also provided schools with the opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, and share ideas regarding the tournament. Representatives from participating schools expressed their appreciation for the initiative and the opportunities it presents for young players.
With the briefing concluded, schools signalled their eagerness and readiness to take the field as the competition enters the quarter-final stage.
