As the rains have forced a no-result in the match between Trinidad and Tobago Red Force and Jamaica Scorpions in the CG United Regional Super50 tournament, the Scorpions have been left winless, and will not advance to the semi-final round.
Red Force won the toss and inserted the defending champions, Scorpions, who recorded 213 for nine after 48 overs were possible. Promoted up the order, West Indies’ Test vice-captain Jermaine Blackwood could hit only a consolation boundary, as he managed just 10 runs from 22 balls, while his opening partner Chadwick Walton was run out for a run-a-ball 23, as both openers fell in the eighth over with 34 runs on the board.
This brough Nkrumah Bonner to the crease, and he showed the experience of his 16-year career with his second half-century of the tournament and 14th in List A cricket. Having featured in 15 Tests and six One Day Internationals for West Indies, the 34-year-old right-hander followed up his 72 in the previous match with 74.

Bonner, who at this level has four tons and over 2200 runs to his credit, stroked seven boundaries and added 36 for the third wicket with Andre McCarty, who struck three boundaries during his 13-ball 19 before being given out leg-before-wicket to Narine immediately before the drinks break was signalled.
Bonner was joined by his captain Rovman Powell, who forged an 88-run stand for the fourth wicket. Powell rotated the strike well with Bonner, hitting just two fours and a six during his 69-ball 48 before nicking a faint edge to Nicholas Pooran behind the stumps.
With the Scorpions being slung on the ropes at 197 for nine after 46 overs, rain interrupted the match for over an hour, and when play resumed, the match was reduced to 48 overs a side.
In the final over, a few lusty blows off the bowling of Khary Pierre saw Dennis Bulli adding valuable runs to the Scorpions’ tally.
The two most established spin bowlers in the Red Force line up, Sunil Narine and Akeal Hosein, ended with three wickets each, for 30 and 34 runs respectively.
