Hemraj who made his First Class debut back in 2012 as a teenager was first used as an opener in the third round of the season against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes after established opener, Rajendra Chandrika suffered a dip in form and was dropped.

Hemmy further stated that he was happy to see Brandon convert to three figures, “Coach was always stressing on one of the openers to score a 100, I came close first innings but was really happy to see “Branny” get it in the second innings.”
