Chase’s Academy keen on maintaining winning momentum in 2026

With an emphatic victory in the first Schools’ Football Tournament of 2026, Chase’s Academic Foundation is keen on keeping their victorious streak alive in future tournaments this year.
In complete contrast to the way they started their 2025 Secondary Schools’ Football campaign, Chase’s Academic Foundation romped to a dominant win in the recently concluded Massy Distribution Under-18 tournament.
So authoritative was their performance that their smallest win was by a 6–0 margin in last Saturday’s final. Other wins included scores of 22–0 against the Bishops’ High School, 9–0 against West Minster Secondary, 11–0 against St Joseph’s High, 9–0 against Patentia Secondary, 11–2 against Three Miles Secondary and 7–0 against Charlestown Secondary.

Following that contest with Santa Rosa Secondary, Captain Shaquan David reflected on what he had hoped would be a more challenging final.
“We came in with a very positive mindset that we will win. We went out, put in the work, and we did get the win,” David said of their mindset prior to Saturday last’s final.
He went on to share about how the final unfolded: “We was hoping for a stiffer competition; we didn’t expect it to be so easy, but they put up a fight. After the two penalties, I think we had it.”
The midfielder turned his attention to his personal performance, which resulted in him being named the highest goal scorer and MVP, noting that he had a point to prove.
“I was going for it, and I got it. I had a point to prove, and I did step up and showed my quality,” the player told this publication.
As David looks ahead to the Republic Bank League and KFC International tournaments later this year, for which Chase are the defending champions, he expressed his team’s intention to maintain their winning momentum.
“Yeah, we will be putting in the work and keep training and stuff so that we could keep the winning streak going,” David assured.
Chase’s Academic Foundation will be rewarded with a $300,000 grand prize for their efforts in the Massy Distribution tournament, to be allocated in kind for a school project.
