Christianburg wallop Dolphin 5-1

Linden’s Christianburg/Wismar Secondary won their second match in convincing style by defeating Dolphin Secondary 5-1 when the sixth annual Milo Schools Football tournament continued on Sunday at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Javier Smith opened the scores in the 3rd but Akeem James equalized five minutes later; the ascendency was regained following Andre Mayers in the 9th. More goals rained in from Mickel Adams (25th), Lennox Richards (41st) and Akeem Caesar (53rd).
More so, Bishops’ High School suffered their first loss after a draw in their first match against Pure Masters. It was Morgan’s Learning Centre who inflicted the 7-0 result via a helmet-trick from Darren Dickenson who netted in the 6th, 38th, 46th and 56th. The other match of the day saw Vergenogen Secondary dispose of Ann’s Grove Secondary 4-2; Jermin Gill netted a double (11th & 53rd) while Staroy Lee (12th) and Ronaldo Macey (61st) made the other conversions; Carlos Cole (39th) and Seminar McPherson (68th) scored for the East Coast Demerara unit.
Meanwhile, the under-18 tournament which is a collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health under the theme “there is no excuse for violence” will see pivotal final round of group matches get cracking from Wednesday with Business School battling Charlestown Secondary from 16:00h followed by three-time defending champions Chase Academic Foundation against the in-form Annadale Secondary from 17:30h.
