A Corentyne, Berbice couple was on Wednesday remanded to prison after they pleaded guilty to neglecting and ill-treating their 3-month-old baby.
Hafeez Persaud, a farmer and his 21-year-old wife, Shanie Singh, both of Grant 1803 Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, pleaded guilty to the offence which stated that on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, they willfully ill-treated their baby, thus causing her unnecessary suffering and injury to her health.
