DCB/Premier Insurance U15 Inter-Association tourney: East Bank Demerara humble Upper Demerara, West Bank Demerara

Action in the DCB/Premier Insurance U15 Inter-Association 2022 tournament continued with two rounds of matches being played on Wednesday March 30 and Friday April 01.

Dravid Manohar was the standout performer

On Friday, Dravid Manohar’s five-wicket haul helped the East Bank side to claim victory over the Upper Demerara team at Farm Ground.
Having won the toss, Upper Demerara decided to bowl first, and restricted the East Bank side to 77 all out in 28.4 overs. Sayyad Lakeram top scored with 21, while no other batter scored double figures. Keron Phillips collected 4 for 16 while Javid Chaitram supported with 2 for 23.
In reply, Upper Demerara struggled, and fell for 40 from 20.5 overs, as Manohar claimed 5 for 12 and Lakeram took 4 for 14. East Bank won by 37 runs.
On Wednesday March 30, East Bank humbled West Demerara, with Josiah Lim scoring an unbeaten half century while Dravid Manohar ripped through the batting line up.
Over at Meter-Meer-Zorg, West Demerara won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 108 all out from 48.4 overs, while Arvin Suknanan scored 20, Shaker Lall 18, and Parmeshwar Ram 12. Dravid Manohar was the most instrumental bowler, grabbing 6 for 24.
In reply, East Bank raced to victory, losing only three wickets in 13.2 overs. Lim scored a brilliant 69 not out, and East Bank received support from Manohar, who came back with a good all-round performance in scoring 17. East Bank won by 7 wickets.
