Everest Masters begin Jamaican tour at historic Sabina Park

Every year around May, the Everest Cricket Club Masters team would embark on a tour to play a series of cricket matches against various teams in the foreign land. This year it’s no different as the Georgetown based club is on tour of the lovely island of Jamaica.
While in the land of wood and water the Guyanese will play two (2) matches at historic venues. On Saturday May 7 the tour begins with a 35 overs a-side match at the international venue, Sabina Park in the nation’s capital, Kingston. The opponents in the opening match is the Kingston Cricket Club Masters while on Monday May 9, the Kaiser Sports Club ground in Discovery Bay, Ocho Rios will be the venue for the final match on tour against a select XI.
The strong 13-man squad which winged out of Guyana on Friday will be led by regular captain Rajesh Singh. The other members are Shadeo Hardaiow, Hafeez Ali, Hemraj Garbarran, Rabindranauth Seeram, Shaheed Mohamed, Rohan Sarjoo, Anwar Rahaman, Sanjeev Datadin, Ronald Jaisingh, Basil Persaud, Prakash Balgobin and Johnny Azeez.
The Guyanese Masters have been playing as a unit and will give a good account of themselves with talent throughout the squad.
The trip has been made possible through the generosity of IMG, Dinar Trading, Trophy Stall, Professional Printing Services, Carib Food Distributors, Fly Jamaica, Shalindra Etwaru, Robin Bharat, Anand Sanasie and staff of the Guyana Cricket Board while Dave Cameron, Wavell Hinds and Paul Campbell from Jamaica have also contributed in making the tour a possibility.
The Everest Masters Team is expected to be back in Guyana on May 12.
