Father charged for threatening to take away school cash grant

45-year-old Angel Price of Savannah Park Housing Scheme, New Amsterdam Berbice was on Friday placed on $20,000 bail and ordered to remain at least 100 feet away from his 36-year-old reputed wife, after appearing before New Amsterdam Magistrate Renita Singh to answer a charge of threatening the mother of his three children while demanding that she hand over the “Because We Care” cash grant money that was given to her to assist with their children’s school expenses.

The incident is alleged to have occurred after the mother had returned home with the money, and Prince has pleaded not guilty to threatening his wife.
After placing Prince on $20,000 bail, Magistrate Singh instituted the restraining order. And as the mother walked out of the courtroom, Price called on her to give him $10,000 to assist him with the bail. (G4)
