The Red Square Vodka Fete, which was scheduled for the Lusignan Community Centre Ground, on the East Coast of Demerara this evening will now be held at the Providence National Stadium, East Bank Demerara. This decision was taken after officials of the promotion team visited the ground and found it to be in a soggy state due to inclement weather.
The promoters apologise for the change in venue and assure that tickets
purchased will still be valid. The first show was held in the parking Lot of the Leonora Synthetic Track last evening and the last show is billed for the Rose Hall Canje Estate Ground.
The shows are being held to launch the new Red Square Vodka. The artistes slated to perform are Adesh Samaroo, Terry Gajraj, D’Hunter, Rick Ramoutar, Sexy Vanessa, Stephen Ramphal, Aamir Khan, Shakti Strings Band and the Ishara Dance Troupe.
At a press conference on Friday morning, spokesperson for the show, WR Reaz posited that security will be strict at the various venues. In addition to members of the Guyana Police Force, the promoters have contracted a 45-man security team to provide additional security. In addition, the artistes are all hyped to perform before their fans. Reaz who is also the emcee of the show assured fans that the show will go on as planned and urged patrons to be early. The artistes will be backed by the Shakti Strings Orchestra.
