Four men arrested after narcotics find at Supenaam waterfront
Four men were arrested Tuesday night, after police discovered more than 60 grams of suspected cocaine and cannabis near the Farmer’s Wharf at the Supernaam waterfront in Essequibo.

According to reports, police ranks of Regional Division #2 were on mobile patrol around 23:17h when they observed the men near ‘Dunchie’s Shop’. A search of the area led to the discovery of a transparent plastic bag containing a white, rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine, and another bag with leaves, seeds, and stems believed to be cannabis. The bags were found a short distance away in front of the wharf.

The four men, who were in close proximity to the discovery site, were shown the narcotics but denied any knowledge or ownership.
They were promptly taken into custody and transported to the Aurora Police Station. The suspected cocaine weighed 51.98 grams, while the cannabis weighed 12.25 grams.
Investigations into the discovery and the men’s connection to the drugs are ongoing.
