GCB launches 4th Cricketer Magazine

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) on Monday afternoon unveiled the fourth edition of its Cricketer Magazine at the board’s Regent Street office.
The 74-page, full colour magazine features statistics, news articles, features and a pictorial review of the Board’s annual awards ceremony for 2016.
There a is Foreword from Whycliffe ‘Dave’ Cameron, President  Cricket West Indies, where he begins by postulating that the Guyana Cricket Board continues to play a significant role in the development and growth of the sport in the region.

The GCB continues to examine ways in providing the Guyanese cricketers with the necessary structures that will aid in the players professional career. The Guyana Professional Cricket League contracted players as well as the Academy Players, all train  four  days per week, in a system year to assist in the development of their individual and team needs.
The magazine  also showcases an appreciative message from the Minister of Business with responsibility for Tourism, Hon. Dominic Gaskin.
According to a release by the GCB, “ this message, gives the GCB most pleasure, since it is an indication of the government’s willingness to commit to the promotion of cricket, not just as a sport, but as a marketing tool for Guyana’s tourism market – a positive step for the imagine of cricket in Guyana”.
Further, the magazine captures the Hon. Nicolette Henry’s message on behalf the Ministry Of Education. The GCB notes, that the Ministry Of Education has been one of its integral stakeholders, and is highly grateful for their continuous support and cooperation.
Apart from the President and Secretary reports, the annual publication also includes a feature on the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) awards ceremony for 2015; Building the ideal cricket pitch; Jaguars Franchise League Three-day competition; The Fabulous Five; Guyana’s top performers for 2016; National competition and WICB tournament reports for 2016; and fixtures for 2017.
The magazine is available free of cost from the GCB Head Office on Regent Street, and  it expected to be distributed to territorial board across the region.
