GCF announce dates for National Cycling C/ship

The Guyana Cycling Federation has announced that the National Cycling Championship will be held over three days in late June, early July.
On June 23, there will be the Individual Time Trial, while on the following day, the Masters, Juniors, Juveniles and Ladies will compete in the Road Race.
On July 1, the senior riders will wrap up the 2018 championship with the Senior Men’s Road Race, which will cover 110 miles/177.03km.
The Individual Time Trial on the opening day will pedal off at 09:00h from the Police Outpost at Yarrowkabra on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, proceed to a 10km point and return to the point of origin for the finish.
The Road Race for the Masters, Juniors, Juveniles and Ladies the following day, will commence at 07:30h in front of the National Sports Commission’s Office on Homestretch Avenue. While the Masters and Juniors will journey to Long Creek on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, the Juveniles and Ladies will turn at the Soesdyke Junction.
All the riders will then journey back to Homestretch Avenue for the finish. Of point to note, the Federation said Junior and Juvenile riders will not be allowed to compete if they fail to wear junior gear.
The Men’s Road Race on July 1 will start on Homestretch Avenue at 07:30h, proceed to Moblissa on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway before returning to the start point for the finish.
The riders will cover approximately 260 miles of the country’s roadways during the three days.
Due to financial constraints, the Federation is requesting that clubs provide transportation for their respective riders at the event, as well as escorts.
