The course, conducted by the GDF Training Corps, covers Government Store Regulations, Material Regulations, storekeeping procedures, accounting for rations, petroleum products and other military stores.
Participants will also receive training in introductory bookkeeping, stores documentation and environmental health and sanitation. Addressing the ranks at the opening of the course, Officer Commanding Technical Division, Lieutenant Commander Derrick Johnson, stressed the importance of logistics to the effective execution of military operations.
“The efficiency of our logistics directly influences our ability to accomplish the mission and the mandate of our respective units,” he said.
Johnson urged participants to approach the training with discipline and diligence, and to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to their assigned duties.
“Let your performance on this course, and your conduct afterwards, demonstrate a commitment to not only your personal development but betterment of the Force,” he said.
The course, the GDF said in a post on its social media page, is intended to equip the ranks with the technical competence to manage military stores in keeping with established regulations, maintain accurate records and ensure the responsible use of resources entrusted to the GDF.
