GMMAKA successful at NAFMA International Championships

The Guyana Mixed Martial Arts Karate Association (GMMAKA) recently competed in the North American Martial Arts (NAFMA) International Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey and emerged successful after battling against a host of international competitors.
In the senior division, Azariah Duncan earned first place in the traditional kata, kumite and freeform disciplines; while Chandrapaul Sukhu placed first in the kumite and 2nd in the freeform and traditional kata disciplines respectively; even as Altaf Singh copped 1st in the traditional kata, 2nd in the kumite, and 3rd in the freeform disciplines.
In the Black Belt division, Zafar Lee Ramnarine placed 2nd in kumite, 3rd in freeform and weapon, and 2nd in traditional kata; while Raul Joseph picked up 3rd in the traditional kata, and Abrar Wahid bagged 3rd in kumite and freeform.
After an 18-year hiatus, Master Lloyd Ramnarine stepped back into the martial arts arena and placed 1st in the kumite, even as he received a special award from grandmaster Jose Torres.
Master Lloyd Ramnarine then congratulated the students who participated in the international martial arts championships, and highly praised their sponsors for making the event a success.
