Gray continues to dominate at One Guyana Basketball League group stage

After months of exhilarating action at the National Gymnasium and The Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, the Group Stage of the Guyana basketball Federation One Guyana Basketball Premier League — which commenced on December 14th,2024 in the middle phase with Zion Gray playing for Stabroek Eagles – is being led in the points standings with an impressive 80 points.
Despite the Ravens’ current eighth-place finish after the group stage, Delroy Critchlow has been prolific. He follows Gray in second with 54 points, and Meadowbrook Nets Dennis Niles comes in third with 45 points.
Showcasing his prowess once again is Zian Gray led the two-point shot made with 32, while Plaisance Guardians Delroy Critchlow continued to make his appearance. Following in third with 19 is Anton Fileen representing the University of Guyana Trojans.
Dennis Niles finds his name on the leaderboard, as he leads the 3 points made at this stage with 8, accompanied by Quincy Larose, playing for the Plaisance Guardians with 5; while Eagles Mortimer Robertson, Mdoom/Prospect Kobras Trevor Smit And Eagles Denzil Ross sharing the third place position with 4.
Zian Gray made his spot at the free throw, as he leads the Free Throws Made with 16, followed by University of Guayana Trojans Kadeem Peterkin with 12, and Raven’s Shamaar Huntley and Dominic Vincente occupying third position with 10.
Stabroek Eagles Travis Belgrave has proven to put the team first, as he currently leads the assists table with 15 assists. He is followed by his Meadowbrook Nets Travis Stewart with 13 assists, then Masters Steve Seils with 12 assists.
Despite the Caimans failing to register a win thus far Akeem Miggins showcased his skills as a defensive player. Currently sitting in first place with 6 steals , followed up with GDF Travis Griffith tied with Mcdoom/Prospect Kobras Akil Hughes and GDF Devon Fraser with 4 steals to their name.
Travis Belgrave is an emerging game-changer who currently leads with 19 steals. He is followed by Plaisance Guardians Moses Matthews and Teenage sensation with 14 steals and fellow teammate Nduka Horatio with 13 steals
With the playoff action of the One Guyana Basketball League set to kick off in April, as the Group stage faced many postponements thorough to the availability of facilities, and on Saturday were postponed concrete electricity poles collapsed along Homestretch Avenue.(Omar Mckenzie)
